VILLAGE MANAGEMENT UPDATE
Village Management would like to take the opportunity to remind residents of our upcoming meetings scheduled for next Monday the 14th November. This meeting has been requested by the resident committee as an ideal forum whereby residents queries and any concerns can be discussed directly with management.
To ensure all questions can be answered it has been requested that residents do provide their questions to management with enough notice prior to the meeting dates to allow time for management to research or seek guidance from trades or accounting personnel. Questions can be emailed to Leah directly at info@championlifestyle.com.au or via placing a hard copy of correspondence in the Village Managers mailbox located at the front of the office.
Residents please be aware that the Clubhouse has been booked for our tradesperson annual Christmas Party on Friday 2nd December from 1pm – 6pm and we therefore ask all residents to please be mindful that this event is taking place.
As our Village continues to grow at its rapid rate we are delighted to now be able to provide a courtesy buggy for both current residents and also perspective residents to tour the Village. We have worked closely with your Resident Committee and have nominated a few designated drivers to support residents attend social functions. We think this is a great addition to our infrastructure to support residents age in place in a safe and welcoming environment.
On a recent walk around the Village I came across Kev’s corner in all its glory!!! What a wonderful sight that Spring has arrived across our site. Marg on behalf of all of us we thank you sincerely for your efforts in attending to Kev’s patch.
WELCOME TO THE CHAMPION COMMUNITY
Vanessa Darrell – Lot 66
Vanessa has joined the Village in October, at Lot 66, after 26 years in Gosnells.
Prior to that Vanessa lived and worked in different locations around the state. After a successful career as a Senior Project Manager in the Public Service, Vanessa decided to go with an early retirement and explore her other interests including art, music and living a quiet life.

Though Vanessa has moved into The Village on her own, you will no doubt be seeing Vanessa and her sisters (Elaine & Sharon) around the Village.
You can find Vanessa at Lot 66, 16 Calm Drive – or just look for the house with the metal grass tree out the front!
Ian & Erica Fingland – Lot 69
Ian and Erica Fingland have moved into Lot 69 which is at 19 Calm Drive.
oth are from Pioneering families from WA, and they have a passionate interest in family history. Erica’s family were on the first fleet into the Swan River in 1829. Ian’s family came from Victoria to Doodlakine and had to clear the land before beginning farming there. They have lots of interesting stories, varied experiences and memorabilia to share. Their interest in family history has led them to the gathering lots of information and including writing books on the subject.
They have 3 sons and 6 grandchildren all in the Perth area and with whom they have lots of interactions so you may see them around fairly regularly, either visiting or staying for a few days.
Erica worked in aged care as well as with clients with mental health and disability concerns. Ian was an electrical /electronic specialist and was often having to sort out and correct problems on mine sites.
Apart from family history Erica is interested in craft, sewing and gardening. Ian is a model railway enthusiast and hopes to set up his model railway when he has settled. They hope to take part in Village activities once they are settled into their new house.
They own a caravan and spent several months living in it while awaiting the construction of their new home at our Village. They enjoy going off road and going 4wheel driving and have even done the appropriate driver training. They have found many remote and beautiful places on their travels.
Please have a chat to them and welcome them to our community when you see them around.
Window Cleaning Village Pricing
Village Management has been approached by a newly opened window cleaning provider and is keen to seek if residents would be interested in having their internal and external windows cleaned. An expression of interest sheet has been placed in on the resident notice board and if you would like to put your name down we will then liaise with the contractor directly to get a bulk price for residents to consider.
Alternatively, if you would like to liaise directly with contractor you are welcome to do so on the information provided.

Thai Restaurant
This is a photo of a group of our lovely residents who went to The Silk Thai Restaurant on a recent outing to Mandurah.
Hippee Night
What a raving success our Hippee Night was on October 8th. Many residents enjoyed a fabulous meal and entertainment until the wee hours it has been rumoured. Well done to the resident committee for putting on such an enjoyable night!!!
Village Breakfast BBQ’s just get bigger and bigger
BBQ Breakfast on Sunday 16th October resulted in our best turnout ever with 62 residents enjoying an incredible spread and great company.
COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Village vegetable garden is being well tended by a number of residents and has never looked so good.
There are a variety of vegetables being grown and some of these are now ready for harvesting. When harvested many of these vegetables are placed in the lodge and are available for any resident to have in return for a gold coin donation. All funds raised will be banked for the benefit of residents future functions.
Currently, there is silver beet, lettuce, spring onions and broccoli available in the Lodge fridge.
Please do not remove vegetables directly from the garden. When ready all vegetables will be placed in the Lodge and residents will be notified.
Other items that have been planted are chillies, tomatoes, radishes, potatoes, corn, pumpkin, watermelon and rockmelon. You will be notified when these become available.
GOSNELLS BOWLING CLUB
Gosnells Bowling Club have asked us to please let residents know that should they being looking at undertaking a social occasion outside of the village, residents would be very welcome to considering their Christmas dinner evening being held on 16th December or their New Years eve festivities being held on the 31st December.
